Canvassers working for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance attended the airbase at North Weald recently to see the new AW169 helicopter that they have helped to fund. The charity informed the canvassers present that the 168,000 members that they have on their weekly lottery had enabled them to spend £6.5m on a state-of-the-art helicopter that will enhance the service to the people of Essex and Hertfordshire.
The charity has one of the biggest society lotteries in the country and this accounts for a huge amount of the charities income every year. Tower Lotteries are proud to have recruited new members for the lottery since 2007 having initially first started when the charity had just 17,000 paying members. Canvassers Daren Budd and Steve Foster have represented the charity since those early days back in 2007 and as residents of Essex, they take immense pride in seeing for themselves the rewards that their hard work over the years has enabled the charity to buy.
The new Augusta Westland 169 came into operation in July this year and will enable the charity to save even more lives across the region!
